Enjoyed it. Sad goodbye to twoflower
I put off reading the book because people told me I should and I would enjoy it. They were not wrong. Very easy to read but a beautiful story. I loved the differing perspectives. I legit cried at the end. 10/10
This book is okay. If you like surfing and a journey inward then you'll like this book.
This book was very interesting to read. Learnt a lot about goddesses from around the world and Foley & Coates link their myths/tales to life lessons. Also incredibly well researched and each tale comes with some humor.
This is the first book before Strange Houses. The story in this book is more interesting than the one in Strange Houses however the way Strange Houses is written is more captivating. I thoroughly enjoyed both books and am looking forward to Uketsu's next work.
I really enjoyed this book. I love the character Death in all Terry Pratchett's novels but in this one in particular I find him a little more relatable and humanized.
Very unique style of writing and a fun murder mystery book that was easy to get through and kept you engaged
Genuinely loved this book. Bennett writes in a way that makes it easy to get immersed in the imagery and scenes unfolding. The intertwining of Te Ao Māori, the political history of Aotearoa, and thriller makes this book stand out and leave you thinking as Tāngata Tiriti. (Only thing that got to me was that it described an unfamiliar Auckland - Bennett in the end of the book explains that it is a ficticious version of Tāmaki Makaurau )
Great introduction to the discworld and Terry Pratchett's humorous writing style
Second in "The Trials of Apollo" series. Exploring friendship, sacrifice, mechanical dragons, and very vain and selfish emperors. Riordan's humor shines in this series.
