  • Legends of Rotorua and the hot lakes

    By A.W.Reed
    5 stars

This book is a bunch of cool short stories about Rotorua's legends. At the beginning, it talks about the Te Arawa people exploring New Zealand. What's neat is how it explains where names in the Bay of Plenty come from. The book feels like a mix of history and mythology, and my favorite story is about Ihenga and his dog Potaka. They went exploring and Potaka found a lake, which Ihenga later called Lake Rotorua.
