The perfect historical fiction summer read! Set in Wellington, it tells a part of WW2 that isn't often looked into. Great characters that you could imagine were your grandparents or people you know!
A lovely story of a widower finding her way with her teenage children, they head off on a road trip across America and find more than what they expected. I felt the story was a bit rushed at the end but was lovely overall.
An interesting magical fantasy book, whilst I could see where it was going from the start, it also had some unexpected twists. An easy summer read, with characters that you related too and a family saga thrown in. Wished it was longer as felt rushed at the end.
My favourite of her books so far - some challenging topics and ideas discussed.
Loved this book! I really wasn't sure a few chapters in and contemplated putting it down, however glad I stuck it out! It is written in a way that leaves you guessing what is going to happen next, and weaves stories together. Afterwards I really thought about my own morals and the impacts these have. The story follows three triplets in a world that presents a different outcome to WW2 and the lasting impacts of this and the questions Nature vs Nurture.
A lovely story overall with some interesting/challenging themes throughout. However just never felt as connected to the characters as I have in other books, I felt I wanted more and that it jumped through each part quickly.
The final in the Elements series and I really enjoyed this one, it tied it all up really nicely and left you pondering morals and life choices! The whole series is a great read, and with the small books they are easy to pick up and finish in a day or two.
The third in the daughter's series, where boxes were found in an old unwed mothers home, each box contains clues to the child's history or family. Really enjoy these books as they explore different parts of the world and are starting to interconnect now. Easy and lovely summer holiday reading.
The third of the Elements series, not my favourite but was thought provoking and lead on nicely to the final book.
