Third in the Aaron Falk detective series from this author. As in the previous book the only rehash of past events are those that are needed to provide background information. The solving of two old cases is intertwined with the lives of the main characters. A great read
A great first novel from this author. Over a period of time three Maori children are abducted from their homes. The book is essentially solving the crime but it explores the relationships between Maori and Pakeha and how Maori are treated by authorities. Violence, murder, drugs and gangs all play a part in this novel. Very believable.
This is the second book by this author in the Aaron Falk detective series. Unlike many other series this book doesn't completely rehash the previous books. References are made in context of things that happened to the main characters in the past but they don't dominate the story. Only things need for background info are included. This could be read as a stand alone book. It is set in Australia and has a good plot that keeps you pulled in right until the very end. It is a surprise to find out who the culprit was.
A whodunnit with a very readable cast of characters. Set in small town Australia this novel tells the story of a murder but is interlaced with all the problems of a drought in a small rural farming town. I would thoroughly recommend this book
This book is the prelude to "Ask For Andrea". It is loosely based on a true story. As in Ask For Alice the story is told by the ghosts of a couple of dead girls and the family members who are looking for their killer. Hard to put down.
Story told in unusual format by three women who have all been killed by the same man. Eventually they discover each other as ghosts. They are the only thing that could keep him killing again. The haunt is on.
Jo Nesbo is well known for his book "The Snowman" and his novels featuring detective Harry Hole. This is a stand alone novel that won't disappoint. Lots of plot twists and turns to keep he reader on their toes
Jeffrey Deaver has taken over the mantle from Ian Fleming and written a James Bond novel. In 2004 Deaver won the Crime Writers Association Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award. His acceptance speech prompted Ian Fleming's Estate to ask Deaver to write this novel. In true 007 fashion there are fast cars, beautiful women, a bad guy or two all laced together with some International espionage. Jeffrey Deaver has done a good job of creating a story that aligns with Ian Fleming's. All James Bond fans should read this novel
A detective, murder mystery book. Book two of the Mark Turpin series. A typical book of this genre. A detective with a personal issue has moved away from his home town and is establishing himself in a new area and work place. Solving the murder is intertwined with his back story. Easy read.
Very insightful story about human Nature. Well written although it is in an unusual style that might might appeal to some people. It makes you laugh and cry sometimes at the same time
