I read this on the train home from school. It was completely engaging, both the retelling of a myth and the creation of one. I'm devastated this was only a short story - I want more!
This was a thrilling and engaging read.
Same as with the first one, this was a sweet and quick read with great art.
After loving Akira so much, I've decided to give manga a proper go. This was a cute, easy read, with great illustrations. I've got the next volumes lined up and ready to go.
Every volume is better than the last. I was completely engrossed in the world.
McEwan knows how to craft dark and unsettling stories.
A well-written retelling of the myth of Medusa. It was engaging and I breezed through it. I'm excited to teach this text to my students.
A great, thought-provoking short story. The introduction (although I read it after the fact) by Zadie Smith was a great companion essay.
Loved every page.
I can hear the film's score when I read this. I'm obsessed with Akira and I'm excited to get my hands on every volume. The art style is incredible, the storytelling is immaculate, and I was completely enthralled.
Way too much exposition, but has some nice moments. Great art style helps.
Beautiful story. Beautiful prose. So much better than the film.
