  • The Strength of the Few

    By James Islington
    5 stars

Fantastic sequel to the Will of the Many which I believe surpassed it! The three perspectives branching in such an interesting way. Loved the different viewpoints and the worlds which came from it. Full of heart and action and the story continues in such a fascinating way. I have not been this excited for continuing a series in a long time. Islington has really created a masterful and intriguing series

  • Lamb to the Slaughter

    By Roald Dahl

An absolute expert in short stories! Some very twisted endings and throughly enjoyable and relevant last stories which resonates with AI and creation.

Ripped through this book in the Christmas season. Enjoyable to read although some very sad moments and very frustrating or nerve racking to read at times. Looking forward to the rest of the trilogy

  • Abhorsen

    By Garth Nix
    4 stars

A satisfying conclusion with nonstop action. Really enjoyed this, especially how everything came together at the end. Reminded me of Sabriel in the unrelenting pace. Good conclusion to an enjoyable trilogy

  • Small Things Like These

    By Claire Keegan

Excellent Christmas story filled with sadness but a tangible sense of hope. The ending was beautiful

  • Lirael

    By Garth Nix
    4 stars

Good coming of age story for Lirael. Interesting expansion of the world built in Sabriel with a new story. Very enjoyable

  • The Word is Murder

    By Anthony Horowitz
    4 stars

Excellent meta murder mystery. Horowitz and Hawthorne make a great retake on the Sherlock & Holmes trope. A compelling story well told which was very entertaining for a modern murder mystery

  • A Christmas Carol

    By Charles Dickens
    4 stars

A great read for the begging of the Christmas season. A classic for a reason, well written, beautiful messages and a compelling story. Is it bad the whole time I was reading it I was picturing the muppets characters?

  • Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead

    By Olga Tokarczuk
    1 stars

This is the lowest I have ranked a book in a long time. Rarely would I complete a book which I disliked this much, but was reading it for a book club and it was short so I felt obliged. Whereas the prose is well composed, it really lost me, it meandered along without much of a point. And it was so deeply ideological and felt like vegetarian propaganda in some ways. The astrology did nothing for me either

  • Moving Pictures

    By Terry Pratchett

Very good Discworld novel. Easy read and hilarious with some great characters and top tier satire.

  • Will of the Many

Fantastic first entry in this series. Very interesting and intriguing story. Reads almost like a YA series, in terms of the pace and story for the most part. Cannot wait to read the strength of the few
