  • The Fisherman’s Gift

    By Julia R. Kelly
    5 stars

My first engagement with Scottish folklore & I loved it! This novel maintains the perfect balance between the past & present, myth & reality, grief & happiness. A perfect stormy read.

  • The Midnight Estate

    By Kelly Rimmer
    4 stars

A haunted house, a mystery, and an ancient cemetery. A really easy & enjoyable read with a well - thought out plot. I would love a sequel!

  • Amity

    By Nathan Harris
    4 stars

Nathan Harris is an incredible author. This novel did not fall short of my standards. A beautiful story of freedom, liberation and finding peace.

  • Upon A Starlit Tide

    By Kell Woods
    4 stars

An intertwining of various folklore and traditions with a touch of the ocean, femininity, betrayal, and sailor superstitions! A sweet romance and a story of discovery. Really lovely read!

  • The Other People

    By C.B. Everett
    4 stars

A classic thriller with gore and mystery. I loved the shifting perspectives and characters. A cozy read for by the fire! Definitely difficult to put down, lots of twists and turns along the way. The beast in the cellar is particularly intriguing.

  • The Listeners

    By Maggie Stiefvater
    2 stars

Horrendously boring. There is no real plot line, just excessive descriptions of people and objects. Amazing concept of a hotel in the Appalachian mountains, but a tedious read.

  • Boudicca’s Daughter

    By Elodie Harper
    5 stars

An incredible interpretation of the siege of Britannia from the Iceni and Roman perspective. Harper really delves into the grey area between love and Stockholm syndrome. It’s an incredible story of power, justice, slavery and the rise and fall of the Roman Empire. I really recommend this one! So many emotions, actions, and meaningful moments between characters.

  • The Murder At Worlds End

    By Ross Montgomery
    3 stars

A very traditional take on a murder mystery. I enjoyed the character constructs - from the butlers, maids, to the wealth of the Welt Manor. An easy read with great plot twists! I do feel like this lacked the complexity and depth that I enjoy in reading. It didn’t challenge my way of thinking and understanding of the world. If you enjoy a lighter read, this is a great pick!
