A very good read. An interesting new take on the Batgirl character and how she fits into the DC universe. An entertaining read and a must have for fans of the character.
The third installment of Miller's Batman Returns and it keeps pace with its two predecessors. Miller's storytelling never disappoints and this story lives up to expectations. Kubert's art style is a definite compliment to the story and melds very well with Miller's style from the previous volumes. A must read for Batman fans.
A really good read. Hard to get onto, but once you're in it's a great ride through the lives of the Dunbar boys and their dealing with the ups and downs of life. A wonderful exploration of what commitment and loyalty can mwan when applied to those we love and how that commitment and loyalty can be challenged and tested.
The art is fantastic throughout. The storytelling has some gaps that make it hard to follow in some areas and you sort of need to have a bit of knowledge of the Superman universe in order to follow some of the characters. An interesting concept that has a lot of potential.
A good easy read novel. Meant for lower ability readers, but does have a good story that Year 9s and 10s could sink their teeth into. A lot of bush-lore given and a few helpful hints about being in the bush.
Another excellent take on a staple DC character. Catwoman as the antihero, robbing the rich to feed the poor is briiliant and Maas and Simonson represent that theme brilliantly. A very good novel to introduce yoyrself yo thd world of Gotham City and the Batman mythos.
Brilliant adventure through the North Island. An excellent example of the Hero's Journey and finding the power within ourselves. Highly recommended.
An excellent short read for fans of the Justice League animated series.
A really good read. It has a definite twist in the middle that catches you by surprise and another at the end. Will definitely be reading the sequel.
A good story, but it had a lot of gaps - happens when the anthology includes crossover stories from other titles. Overall, not a bad introduction to a new villain on the block, but could have been a whole lot better.
A fantastic sequel to The Long Halloween. Loeb and Sale are a dynamic duo unto themselves with this tale from the early years of The Batman. A definite must read for any fans of the character and his history.
A good read that continues the adventures of Michael Turner's character, Aspen of the Blue. It explores the theme of dealing with the unknown and how even the best of intentions can be pushed beyond the edge.
A good quick read. Definitely not at the level of King's The Gunslinger. A good example of a "pulp" western.
An awesome anthology of the zaniest character in the Batman canon. A eild ride that explores all adpects of her character - villainness to antihero to hero and all the joy in between. Definitely puts the fun back into dysfunctional.
A lot of gaps in the overall story. So muvh potential that was missed.
A very good reboot of Supergirl's origin story and how she futs into the Superman universe. The art is fantastic and gives the writing an excelkent pace. A definite must as a jumpimg on point for new readers to this character.
A very good alternative history by a master of the grnre. What would have happened if the atomic bomb had been used again during the Korean War? This novel leads into a sequel titled Fallout.
Awesome continuation of Michael Turner's Aspen of the Blue character. Well written and the art works very well too.
