The feelings of fear, heartbreak, and manipulation are strong themes that come across the pages of this historical book. I have always known that Auschwitz was a place of horror and despair, but to feel these people's actual pain and suffering has been an emotional rollercoaster ride. This book is an indication of what true resilience is. Finding happiness is possible after the dark times.
