Whilst in Japan I wanted to read more Japanese literature and this book took me by surprise. I was initially hesitant because to start with it seemed like a collection of short stories which I don’t usually go for and I thought each one could have been expanded on but there was an overarching narrative that brought everything together nicely.

Anything by this author is amazing and I would always recommend. This was a great story that merges nicely with one of the Classical Studies standards on descents into the underworld!
