The opening felt slow and I didn’t immediately connect with the characters, which made it harder to get fully immersed at first. However, once the story found its rhythm, it became an easy, pleasant read. Set in New Zealand, it has a warm, familiar charm and a gentle humour that carries it through. Overall, not a standout for me, but an enjoyable enough book if you’re in the mood for a light, comforting chick-lit read.
