A good read following the ordeal of a young girl lost in the wood. As always with Stephen King, the book quickly sucks you in.
I read this book when I was at school and could still remember one particular quote that stroke me then. Renee is the central character of this Zola novel from the Rougon-Macquart series that portrays the higher spheres of society under the Second Empire. She is a rich but bored young woman who had to marry an older man obsessed with making big money.
Eugene Rougon is a man of influence surrounded by people who all want something from him. It so happens that though aware of it, he needs them to need him.
First book of the famous Rougon-Macquart Zola series. If you are interested in French society under in the 1800s, it's a must read.
