A western fantasy is not my usual go to but this author sucks you in until you find yourself rooting for the main character and needing to finish the book.
The beginning is a little slow but an enjoyable read. Less romance than some of their other novels but has a nice finding your identity trope about a middle aged woman finding her power. You don't have to read their other novels first but if you have, you will recognise some of the world building.
Cosy Fantasy that feels like a warm hug. A new author for me so I am excited to see what else she has written.
I love love love this author but don't read this book if you haven't read the rest of her Mercy Thompson series as there are a lot of spoilers.
I love this author but this plot was very slow with a rushed ending. If you like period drama with a lot of details about clothes this might be for you.
Stayed up late to finish the last book of the trilogy. Nicely wrapped up.
2nd in the trilogy. Compelling main character.
A lot of marching but Elizabeth Moon is a great author and makes you keep reading.
