  • In Full Bloom

This is the book I won as a spot prize for this reading challenge. It’s a great small town romance, single father read however, it has some trigger warnings I suggest reading before committing to the book. It is very easy to read and draws you in quite quickly so I couldn’t for the life of me put it down because I just wanted to know what happened next. I found it quite relatable coming from a small farming community myself and would says it’s like the NZ version of the Chestnut springs series by Elsie silver.

This book was just a standard dark romance, it got very interesting towards the end of the book (the last few pages were absolutely crazy) and finished with a bang! Overall there wasn’t much substance in the middle of the book just a whole lot of passion that became repetitive. I will read the novella next but only because that ending was the most insane ending I have ever read!

The Third book of The Seven Sisters series. It starts out quite slow but very interesting when you go back to old England and are taken through the ins and outs of young people courting. It was giving Bridgeton vibes when we were taken back to the past and I really enjoyed that aspect of the book. Overall it wasn’t my favourite of the series so far but it also wasn’t my least favourite.

The second book of the seven sisters series. This book broke my heart within the first 100 pages, such a sad love story but just like the previous book in the series it has some great themes and I love the character building in this book. It’s a tear jerker from the start!

This is an easy read hockey romance and book 5 of the series. It’s a forbidden romance about an older hockey coach who falls in love with one of his players sisters. Quick and easy read but not a lot of substance.

A great wholesome story about a whānau of adopted daughters who lose their father. This book is based on the eldest daughter who follows clues left by her father to find her original heritage and the journey she faces along the way.

  • Restitution

This book was a bit of fun due to the MMC getting revenge for the pain caused to his whānau over the last 2 books. It was a good conclusion to the series and happy ending for the most part, however I don’t think Dark romance is my favourite genre.

  • Voracious

    By Leigh Rivers
    4 stars

This book is a little more twisted than the first one in the series which made the book a bit more interesting. It’s not for the faint of heart as it has a lot of SA references aswell as physical abuse. Look forward to reading the last one in this series.

A dark romance novel, possessive MMC and an unknowing FMC. Slow burn love story and very frustrating. Will see how the next 2 books go.

Great book, lots of triggers and classed as a dark fantasy. The terms used were quite hard to get a grasp on but once you understood the common terms for the way their “powers” worked it was a lot easier to follow. Overall, would read again!

  • A love letter to Whiskey

The book was ok. Wouldn’t read it again but it had an interesting plot and happy ending.
