  • Anything Could Happen

    By Grant Robertson
    4 stars

I enjoyed this book, and the insights into the political landscape of the past few years. I particularly enjoyed the descriptions of Grant's early family life, as I knew the family through my husband's school/young adult friendship, and my friendship, with one of Grant's older brothers. I still recall our young son's amazement that I "knew Santa", when we got chatting to Mr Robertson when he was a mall Santa and he greeted us personally! Our son was very impressed that we knew both Santa and "his boys". Well worth a read.

This is the first book in this series I ever read, having discovered my Mum's copy of it as a child, complete with a birthday inscription written by my grandmother who died when I was a baby. I then, having been pulled into the series, got the earlier, and later, books from the library, and loved them all.

Another blast from the past, which I've enjoyed re-reading.

  • Anne of Green Gables

    By L.M. Montgomery
    5 stars

A return to my childhood, which I've thoroughly enjoyed. Loved these books when I was younger, and found myself still charmed by the irrepressible Anne and her antics, and by the beautiful descriptions of the places and people. A classic for a reason.
