The land is first was a repeated idea by Gabriela Mistral. She was a teacher, an educator, a diplomat, a woman that most of her life lived in foreign lands. She was the first Latin American author to win The Nobel Prize in Literature in 1945. This book was published after 80 years of her death. It shows some essential proses said by Gabriela in different moments but are still relevant today. For her an open school is the one that is waiting for the kids like a mother: so that they can feel that the society protects and nurtures them to withstand the uncertainty of the future.
