Well written YA fantasy that just failed to resonate with me, I probably would have loved it if I was 20 years younger though!
Entertaining sci-fi story, great pace, artwork and some very well executed twists and turns.
Excellent summary of the contents and issues surrounding Te Tiriti and The Treaty.
A small but powerful book giving voice to Māori views and experiences of the New Zealand wars.
A very well paced book that explores the different aspects of small town life through the medium of a crime mystery.
The bloat is real! There is an great book in here, with half the number of pages; but combining 5 mysteries in one and making relationships the main focus of the book negatively impacts the pacing to a huge extent. This then makes the central mysteries with the huge number of characters to track, much less impactful.
Excellent development on the world and themes of the original mistborn trilogy, with a fresher and more relaxed dynamic.
Very little deviation from the Dan Brown formula, but still as entertaining as ever.
A great premise with a good historical angle. Just enough misdirection to stick the landing too!
