I am halfway through the amazing WWII novel set in France. Loving it so far.

  • Julia and the shark

    By Kiran Millwood Hargrave
    3 stars

Good story, but a bit too subtle for my son to pick up on what is happening to the health of the mother.

Great start to the book, it lost me a bit just over half way.

  • In Too Deep

By Lee Child and Andrew Child
    3 stars

I love a good Jack Reacher book, this one was average. I would recommend the early Reacher books over this one!

  • Atmosphere

    By Taylor Jenkins Reid
    4 stars

A great story of love, space and dysfunctional families. An easy gripping story that keeps you turning the page.

  • Dungeon Crawler Carl

    By Matt Dinniman
    5 stars

This has been on my to read list for ages! It is science fiction, and reads like a video game/survivor tv show. It is funny and fast paced. The characters are great, Carl and the talking cat Princess Donut and a host of Aliens. I hear the audiobooks are amazing, but reading it myself was very entertaining.

  • Deaf Republic

    By Ilya Kaminsky

This poetry book is very hard hitting, showing the atrocities of war.

  • The Fires of Heaven

    By Robert Jordan

Why does everything happen in the last 100 pages? Book 5 in the wheel of time series. I’m looking forward to book 6

  • The Book of Guilt

    By Katherine Chidgey
    4 stars

A good story, well written with distorted well known history woven through to make it seem more realistic.

  • 61 Hours

    By Lee Child
    4 stars

A good Jack Reacher story, a little predictable but it was a fast read and enjoyable.

  • The Detective

    By Matthew Reilly

I love Matthew Reilly’s books. This one was a great fast read. It had adventure, action, mystery and alligators!

  • The Other Bridget

    By Rachael Johns
    4 stars

A fun romance filled with library highs and lows. I love trying to guess the books that Bridget is giving to her patrons.

  • Brimstone

    By Callie Hart
    5 stars

I had been looking forward to reading this since I saw her in NZ. The story took me a while to get back into, there was a lot that could have been done and was not ventured into, a lot that happened and the cliffhanger was huge. Great read, but not a deep one, I picked up on a few mistakes in the book (not like me at all) and really just enjoyed the ride. Looking forward to book 3

  • Bonds of Hercules

    By Jasmine Mas

    Great sequel,

    By Katherine Patterson
    4 stars

Great story of friendship and loss.

  • Careless People

    By Sarah Wynn-Williams
    5 stars

A scary look at the inside of Facebook and the out of touch people at the top that are only focused on growing business and not looking at the societal impact and implications.

  • The Family Upstairs

    By Lisa Jewell
    4 stars

Great twists and turns in this mystery.

  • Great big beautiful life

    By Emily Henry

A nice light romance. Celebrity, hidden family secrets, journalists trying to uncover the truth of a recluses history. With a side of romance.

  • Stolen Focus Why You Can't Pay Attention

    By Johann Hari
    3 stars

Great messages in this book. It could have been shorter and it took a slight turn in the conclusion to where the focus should be in the authors opinion.

  • The Things Gods Break

    By Abigail Owen
    5 stars

Loved this sequel, fast paced, Greek gods and time travel.

  • Daughter of no worlds

  • where the heart is

    By Sarah Crossan
    5 stars

I love a novel in verse and Sarah Crossan has done an amazing job of this one. Set during the potato famine in Ireland. The sweet love story on top of the bleak setting works.
