I have been dipping into this anthology off and on over Christmas. I enjoyed some stories more than others, the Welsh Mari Lwyd is very good. It is interesting to check out images of the Mari Lwyd online.

An excellent read, told with honesty and simplicity. Pippa’s life from early childhood is astonishing, and her wartime experiences are both inspiring and deeply moving. Not only does Pippa share her own story, but she also ensures the courage and sacrifices of many other brave women are acknowledged, so many of whom never returned. This book will stay with me for a long time, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
