Simple story about friendship, love, family and the effects of childhood and teenage trauma.
After reading other books from this collection and watching the films I really enjoyed reading from Tobias' perspective.
Love this author and really enjoyed the Aaron Falks series but found this one a little uneventful and repetitive in the story - was left a bit disappointed.
This book was highly recommended by numerous friends. There was some beautiful writing and lots of literary references (which I didn't always know). I enjoyed parts but it just didn't captivate me, even found it a bit slow and the melancholy ending left me feeling a bit flat - the narrator talked of how great fiction can enhance your life at the moment of reading, make it more memorable - but I didn't get that feeling with this book. Loved the title.
Beautiful, interesting book.
Nicely broken into chapters each starting with a whakatauki however a little slow.
Sequel to Breaking Down The Wall. Set a generation later before & as the Berlin wall comes down. Good easy reading from teenage perspective for teenage audience.
Young adult book which I have been reading with my 14 year old. Easy reading good chapters. Interesting perspective of living on the two sides of the Berlin wall from a teenage perspective - but a little slow.
Easy and enjoyable reading as all the Thursday Murder Club Mystery books.
Very well written series of 4 stories that highlights the ongoing effect of childhood trauma.
Quite a sad story about an eccentric young woman who has a very traumatic childhood. Happy ending.
