Marooned on a remote island after an aristocratic upbringing in the 16th c, the main character and the rough outline of her story are based on true events. I appreciated that it avoided anachronistic feminist/modern thinking.
I enjoyed it enough to keep reading, some stories more than others, overall, ok.
This collection of poetry needs to be read like a narrative - it traces the death of her father, her battles over his funeral and one aunty in particular and the first, second and third anniversary. It's raw and moving - probably not the best idea to read it on Christmas Day but it's too late now!
Diane loaned this to me and I was surprised that Graham Norton could write this well - it was a tight narrative with twists and turns, His insight into human nature was sharp and his writing style just right.
There's nothing like a good 'historical' saga for a holiday read. I enjoyed it - it's about stonehenge.
This is Bunna's Masters paper and I find it very useful. Firstly, it examines GenAI's impact on education in general. Then, it discusses the student perspective which I found fascinating. Finally, he makes practical recommendations.
This is excellent. A really original voice. It's about WWE, OnlyFans, single motherhood and family. Quirky, loveable characters and just all round fabulous.
Loved it. Economical writing.
I didn't love it as much as Water, I felt like it was like every courtroom drama I've seen on TV.
Always a beautiful writer
I loved it. Inspired to read more of her faves.
A family saga, references to Little Women.
