  • Social Skills for Teens with Anxiety -Make Friends and do stuff without feeling weird

    5 stars

This book has some great conversational language to talk about a tough topic. It has 'workouts' throughout to practice the skills talked about in the textabnd examples of when these things have worked and when they haven't. I have a few students in mind to recommend this book to, and hopefully it can help them too.

  • The Big Tale of Little Peppa

This is a great introduction to Peppa Pig if you have never read any of the books before. It introduces the family, and tells the story of Peppa growing up with her best friend Suzy

The rhyming is great, as it always is with this author. It was a surprise when I found out this was a Christmas story. Frist time reading it, and I think it could be a new regular for the kids.

I started reading this series a few years ago. I read the first few pages of this book back then, and never got into it. I decided to try again after watching the Witcher TV series, and realising that I was pretty much finished with the series of books. I found this book really tough to read. The chapters are very long, with there only being 12 chapters over 530 pages. Some of the chapters were ok, but it's not really the type of book you can read in parts. I found it difficult to keep track of all the characters, and the story works across different time lines, so you really have to be concentrating to know what time they are talking about. I feel as though watching the TV series also didn't help with trying to follow this book as some of the destiny's of the TV characters are very different from the book. There is one more book in the series and I'm not sure if I am going to read it after suffering through this one.

  • Peppa goes around the world

    By Peppa Pig
    4 stars

This book is funny. Slightly educational with all the different places visited.

  • Piglet to the Rescue

    By Ronald Kidd
    5 stars

This book tells kids about how size doesn't matter, and you can still be useful even when you are small. I like it because all of Piglets friends accept him exactly how he is, and then when he wants to be something else they accept that too.

  • Spot's first Christmas

    By Eric Hill
    5 stars

A lift the flap Christmas book. The kids love it!

  • Peppa's first Sleepover

    By Peppa Pig
    4 stars

A fun story about Peppa and her friends having a sleepover. It has all the regular sleepover activities, including storytelling, singing and midnight snacks. The least believable part is that they actually get some sleep.

  • Zara the Starlight Fairy

    By Daisy Meadows
    3 stars

Read a chapter of this to my daughter. She is absolutely in love with this story. The themes and characters are very appropriate for 6-10 year olds, although for an adult you wouldn't want to read it more than once.

  • Summer Fishing in Lapland

    By Juhani Karila
    3 stars

A fantasy book about magical creatures and a place in Finland called Lapland. A curse causes a young woman to return home every summer, but this summer things haven't gone to plan. Some chapters were harder to read than others, but kept my imagination busy for most of the book.
